Dot Art
This week in Te Kahu we've been working on our art for the Art and Cultural festival! For this activity we wanted to try a different technique, so we started to make dot art. Dot art is where you use cotton buds or dotting tools to make a silhouette of anything you wish. You can create a simple pattern, an animal or even an entire landscape. I decided to make a Chinese dragon since it's also a cultural festival, I thought that this task was going to be easy but it turned out to be really stressful and messy! Since we had to work outside we were all squashed on 2 small tables in the boiling hot sun, so if anyone moved their arms it would effect everyone else and smudge their paint. Everyone was worrying about their art because it would take so long just to paint on every single dot that no-one wanted to restart. In the end my artwork turned out pretty good and I'm glad it's over. Here is my template of my Chinese dragon!
If you did this art with us, what would you pick for your art?
Why would you pick that?
